INTERACTIVE UNIX System Version 4.1 Maintenance Update
The Maintenance Update for Version 4.1 of the INTERACTIVE UNIX
System contains new device drivers and software corrections that
were developed since Version 4.1 first started shipping. This is
how SunSoft sustains the product between releases.
In this location you will find compressed disk images of the
software as well as release notes (in both ASCII and Postscript
format) and an updated hardware compatibility list. We strongly
suggest you read the release notes before installing or updating
your system.
The main new features included in the Maintenance Update are:
- support for extended IDE drives
- a new driver for the Adaptec 2940 PCI SCSI controller
- support for the AMD Am53/79C794 SCSI controller
- updated version of the drivers that support Adaptec, DPT and NCR controllers
- new support for a variety of Ethernet cards
- several software corrections - this Maintenance Update also consolidates all previously released patches
DISKETTE IMAGES
Below are the diskette images that make up the Maintenance Update.
This software will work only with Version 4.1 of the INTERACTIVE
UNIX System. Read the release notes (also in Postscript) for a
complete list of what is new in the Maintenance Update
Boot diskette
A new boot diskette; use this only to install
a system, not to update it.

Boot loadable drivers diskette
This diskette is needed to install
on systems not recognized by the kernel on the boot disk.
It contains the following drivers: aha274x/aha284x/aha294x
amd974/dpt20xx/ncr710/ncr810
41mu.bl 3.5" diskette image (1396736 bytes)
Network Drivers diskette
Contains an updated version of the
Link Layer Driver (llc) and the following driver to support
networking cards, either new or updated:
c2e/e3E/ecc0/ee/eepro/el0/emat/emc0/epx/itr/nfx/nle/pcn/wd
41mu.ndr 3.5" diskette image (1474560 bytes)
Core/Kernel Configuration/Basic Networking diskette
You always need this diskette. It contains most of the software
corrections.

Updates your INTERACTIVE TCP/IP software
41mu.mul2 3.5" diskette image (1431552 bytes)
Last diskette
Contains updates for INTERACTIVE NFS, the Software Development System, VP/ix and miscellaneous other components of the INTERACTIVE UNIX System (lpr, STREAMS)
